Summary: Frigidaire air conditioner Comment: Quality and apperance of airconditioner seems good. Packing in box allowed the retaining rail to be bent on on both units which I bought. Otherwise it seems to work fine and was a good buy. Remote control is nice.

Summary: frigidaire Comment: Second (replacement) unit is a great bargain for the price. It's a energy star room air conditioner that works great in my backyard workshop. It was easy to install and cost so little I wonder how they do it.

Summary: Completely serviceable air conditioner Comment: The air conditioner is not a rock star, but for the price, it is quiet, and does what is promised.
I purchased it to cool my 180 ft room, and, in 95 degree weather, it took the edge off nicely, finally settling at 68 degrees.
The installation instructions are atrocious, but the general installation is very intuitive.
It's not whisper quiet, but it certainly isn't excessively noisy, it makes a hum similar to a fan, maybe a little louder.
I'm very happy with my purchase.

Summary: Had a Little Problem Comment: First, the unit arrived with no external damage and the unit looked in perfect shape. However, after installing the unit in the window and turning it on while connected to a generator there was a problem in that the fan did not start up. The compressor kicked on after 3 minutes, yet the fan never started. I removed the unit and tried it on house current and the fan made a noise like it was hitting something. It was! A compressor coil. I carefully bent the coil for about a half inch clearance from the fan blade and it worked fine. Now how did that get by QC?
The unit has worked great since then, mostly driven from generator voltage (see other review of the generator) to cool a nice size room and provide relief from the cool breeze that comes as soon as the compressor starts.
As most have stated, it would be nice if you could direct the air flow left or right, but it pretty much just blows straight ahead, if slightly left or right by using the vent blades. Otherwise it is a champ!

Summary: Good unit Comment: This unit cools very well. The remote is a nice plus. It can be a little loud right when the compressor kicks on but settles after that. I see lots of complaints will all models about them being noisy. Blowing air with any force make noise people. Maybe one of those 1000 dollar models is nice and quiet. This one is a great cheaper option.
